Annual Meeting & Reports
The annual meeting is an opportunity for Food Co-op owners to get together and discuss Co-op business. It is typically held in May of every year. The meeting is held to present board, operations and financial information. Co-op owners also get an opportunity to discuss concerns, voice opinions, and celebrate successes. New board members are introduced to the membership at this time.
Our 2014 annual meeting was held Sunday, June 1, 3-6pm at the Northwest Maritime Center. It featured Guest speaker Vicki Robin, co-author of Your Money Or Your Life and author of Blessing the Hands That Feed Us: What Eating Closer to Home Can Teach Us About Food, Community, and Our Place on Earth which describes her adventures in eating only foods grown within a 10-mile radius of her home on Whidbey Island. Afterwards, we honored our local farmers, served seasonal food made from local ingredients, and gave away prizes.
