Learn about foods and beverages that leave you feeling full and unwanting of unhealthy foods. We will prepare two fruit smoothies and two water-based beverages while discussing how substituting one beverage for a meal (aka juicing) is the perfectly nutritious weight-loss remedy. We will discuss whole grains and make dishes including Queenly Quinoa, Brown Rice Pudding, Zucchini Zesto (zucchini stuffed with barley mixture) and Fruity Couscous. Take home recipes.
Instructor Marie Buckner has experience teaching cooking classes at the Givens Center, Silverdale Fitness, and through the North Kitsap School District. Her classes include whole grains, soy foods, baby foods, fruit sweeteners, and organic food topics. She is also an award-winning writer who has written her own cookbooks and developed original recipes.
Class size is 5-15 students. You must sign up in person at the Member Services Desk in the store. Fee is payable upon sign-up. Refunds for cancellations are given up to one week prior to the class.
