The Jefferson County Conservation District offers this free, fascinating workshop about soil microbes and the importance of proper nutrient ratios in building your best soil to support crop production, animal health, minimize erosion and contribute to a healthy environment. Roger Short presents the workshop. Roger has a BS in dairy production from WSU, was a dairy farmer from 1970 to 2003 and, after an “epiphany” in 2005 has shifted to a “beyond organic” approach to raising grass fed beef, creating magical compost and sustainably caring for his land in Chimacum Valley.
