Dishes & Silverware Needed for Schools

April 11, 2015 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Cotton Building
607 Water Street
Port Townsend, WA 98368

Port Townsend School District is making big changes in the right direction with the new lunch program. Next up, PT High School’s Students for Sustainability are turning to the community to help with a wonderful project! SFS is conducting a community donation event on Saturday, April 11th at the Cotton Building; 607 Water St. from 10am-2pm to collect your old plates, bowls and utensils to replace the 100% disposable materials currently used in their cafeteria. The students conducted a waste audit and found this will save the district (and the taxpayers) up to $10,000 per year by not buying disposable dishware and the related garbage fees to haul it to the landfill. They will accept dishes, all of which must be made of sturdy ceramic; any color or style is fine.
10-12” dinner plates
7-8” plates
5-6” bowls
Silverware: dinner forks, knives, spoons, salad forks and soup spoons. MUST BE STAINLESS STEEL. NO steak knives, please.
