Meat and Cheese
Our Meat Department features seafood, poultry and meat free of hormones, antibiotics and nitrates. Look for local beef from Short Family Farm and Westbrook Angus in Jefferson County. Excellent selections of local seafood, including Cape Cleare Salmon, and seasonally local poultry. Seafood is wild-caught, not farmed. Pork, lamb and buffalo is free of hormones, antibiotics and nitrates.
Our Cheese Department features an assortment of cheeses from around the world as well as excellent local cheese from Mt. Townsend Creamery and seasonally from Mystery Bay Goat Farm and Whiskey Hill Goat Dairy. All the cheeses we stock are free of rBGH or rBST (Recombinant Bovine Groth Hormone or Somatotropin) and our cheese case is filled with an assortment of organic, specialty, and raw cheeses like soft-ripened goat cheese, domestic and imported blue cheese and mild to extra sharp cheddar cheese. We use PVC-free plastic wrap for all the cheeses our cheese department wrap in-house. Our cheese cutters are happy to re-cut cheese to size and are always sampling, so be sure to stop by the cheese counter for a taste.
