Bayside Housing

Introducing one of our January Beans for Bags recipients – Bayside Housing & Services. Please support them during the months of January and February by dropping your beans in their jar.

Bayside Housing & Services (BHS) serves people experiencing homelessness in Jefferson County by providing transitional housing and meals, with individualized, trauma-informed case management support. BHS is also preparing to expand services exponentially in 2023 by opening their first Permanent Supportive Housing program called Woodley Place (formerly Hadlock Motel).

After 6+ years in operation, as of January 2023 they’ve now provided over 62,700 nights of safe housing and over 15,000 meals. They currently serve on average between 50 and 55 individuals and families at three housing sites: at the Old Alcohol Plant (“Bayside Tower”) and in two Tiny Shelter Villages in Port Hadlock and Port Townsend. With the recent purchase of Woodley Place in late December 2022, BHS looks forward to increasing capacity at this 4th site by up to 34 more participants, with room to accommodate additional housing onsite in the future as the sewer is expanded to Port Hadlock.

Bayside Housing & Services continues to look for other opportunities to contribute solutions to our county’s crisis-level housing challenges while continuing to provide wraparound care and safe stable housing for Jefferson County neighbors experiencing homelessness and other trauma.
