FAQs

  • Courses range in time commitment and there is homework, but you get to eat it. Courses are also offered on demand, so you can go at your own pace. Each subject has a syllabus with various tasks to complete, including videos, recipe creation, quizzes and more. For instance, a class on Knife skills may only have 20 tasks to complete but an introduction to plant based cooking class will have 174 tasks as it is a more extensive program.

  • This is a FREE benefit for our members. For the more advanced Rouxbe courses like Forks over Knives, Culinary RX, or Professional Plant Based Cooking, members will recieve a discounted enrollment price.

  • Yes! You can either work together on the lessons, or you can each have your own login to work individually. So sign up your partner, sign up your teenager and get cooking!

  • The class list is extensive, but you can learn how to cook and make pasta, how to start plant based cooking, how to cook steak, poultry, eggs and so much more.

  • You will need to have access to internet. It is also required that you submit pictures of your completed recipe tasks so that the instructors can help you learn and see your progress. You can use a smartphone, tablet, or camera to do this.

  • No. There are no age requirements. Rouxbe has successfully instructed people of all ages around the world to be better cooks. If you have small children, have them join along. If you have a teen, have them manage their own culinary exploration.

  • While there are no formal prerequisites, Rouxbe does have expectations that students are active learners, have the desire to take the time to cook each week, and are self-motivated and excited to learn new subject matter. You will get the most out of this course if you practice regularly, which means there will be plenty of food to cook and share.
