Family Meals Save the Day....and my sanity
by Andrea Stafford —- Marketing Manager, Mother of three, Magic Maker
I know I am not alone when I say this…….Last week was hard, this week might be too. 2020 is not short of curve balls, that is a FACT.
Last week was the first week of “home” school. As the Marketing Manager here at the Co-op, I work a full time schedule, I also have three boys in “home” school. I’ll be honest in saying that last week was a bit difficult, figuring out schedules for five people, dealing with connectivity issues, and constantly telling myself I can do this among all of the “I don’t want to’s” coming from the kids. To top it all off, the kids are hungry and expect me to feed them regularly, haha. I decided to take the no nonsense, easy out approach and try the family meal deals that the co-op was providing.
Now, if you belong to a large family, you may have the same problems I have. Everyone likes different things, the littlest boy is a food aficionado and will try anything plus loves to help in the kitchen, my middle boy is the pickiest eater on the planet and doesn’t like food that “looks weird,” and my oldest is pretty easy to please…. most of the time.
What I liked about the Family Meals was the ability to form my own spread. You pick one entree and three sides, so I was able to please everyone each time. I did the family meals three times last week, each with a different theme and it relieved some day to day stresses so I could focus on other things. I see myself taking advantage of this as we continue our “home school” journey. Did I mention that it is only $24.99 for the Family Meal Deal? - so affordable and it was plenty to feed our family of 5 (keep in mind, two of us are little dudes).
