Local Seeds Are Here!
Saltwater Seeds grows open-pollinated seeds adapted for the Maritime Northwest, with 90% of varieties being Certified Organic. They are committed to contributing to the local agricultural economy by finding, selecting, and stewarding productive, delicious, and well-adapted varieties. They hope to work with others who share their vision of a world where agricultural work is valued, and the land is worked by a diversity of people making good wages, and there is a diversity of crops in each field. Saltwater Seeds has two locations that are Certified Organic in Sequim and Chimacum Valley, where they grow all of the seed for contracts and most of the seed for their packets. They also collaborate with other gardeners and farmers to offer a wider variety of vegetables. When purchasing their seeds, you are supporting their ability to grow more seeds for the community. The land they work on is the traditional and contemporary territories of the S'Klallam and Chemakum, and other regional tribes who traded and traveled here.
