Join Port Townsend Marine Science Center for the upcoming international coastal Cleanup
Join Port Townsend Marine Science Center for the upcoming International Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
On International Coastal Cleanup Day, volunteers from around the world will work together to keep our oceans and the life in them as healthy and diverse as possible.
In partnership with Washington CoastSavers, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center will host a beach cleanup check-in location at Fort Worden State Park for you to participate!
Check-in Location:
Fort Worden State Park
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., you will find our check-in table outside the PTMSC Museum Building, located on shore. Here you will be given directions to beach locations and supplies like trash bags and gloves. We will be sending participants to local beaches throughout the greater Port Townsend and Hadlock region.
This year, participants have two cleanup options.
Option 1 – Beach Cleanup! We will be sending participants to local beaches throughout the Greater Port Townsend and Hadlock area.
Option 2 – Remote Cleanup! Are you feeling up for trekking a few miles on the beach and carrying a load of debris on your back? Well, this option is for you! We are putting together one or two small groups to clean up more remote beach locations. For more information on what this would entail, reach out to Mandi at mjohnson@ptmsc.org.
Return to your check-in location:
Return and we will weigh your accomplishments!
As our way of saying thanks, the first 100 participants will receive a free pass to the PTMSC Aquarium and Museum, and a $5 Gift Card for the PT Food Coop.
