The Food Co-op has decided to allocate our Change for Change program funds to the Jefferson County Emergency Response Fund starting June 1, 2020 and lasting at minimum through the summer months, ending September 2020.  This means that you can round up your purchases to the nearest dollar to support our local community during this unprecedented time.

The Jefferson Community Foundation started the Covid-19 Emergency Response & Recovery Fund on March 13, 2020 in response to what everyone knew was going to be a devastating blow to our small and local economy. The generosity of the community has raised: $ 512,634 to date, but the need continues.

The funds donated thus far have been carefully managed by the Covid-19 Grantmaking Team, who have made weekly grants to local nonprofits and government agencies, returning $473,160 directly back into our community. JCF has taken no fees for this fund and aside from credit card fees, every dollar will be distributed to our neighbors to help offset the profound effects of this crisis.

Your Donations at Work

As of publication, the Covid Grantmaking Team has allocated $473,160 to local nonprofits who are working to serve our community. The fund is not only for meeting immediate needs but also for supporting systemic recovery efforts, and the team welcomes innovative proposals.

Applications to the Fund are accepted on a rolling basis. Those received by mid-day Wednesday are considered at the weekly Covid Response Grantmaking Team on Friday mornings. Allocations are then sent to grantees Friday afternoon.

THANK YOU JEFFERSON COUNTY!!
