Beans for Bags: NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness
Your change continues to make great change in our community.
For the months of January and February your beans will go towards supporting the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
NAMI Jeffco’s mission is to provide self-help support groups and education, expand awareness, and reduce stigma related to mental Illness, and to advocate for change and improved services.
NAMI Jeffco, like many other organizations, is now offering programs via ZOOM. That has allowed us to include participants who find it difficult to attend in person and even participants from outside our local area. Because it has worked so well, we plan to continue to offer online programs.
Funds from Beans For Bags allow us to continue providing printed materials and literature for use with community programs.
We are thrilled to be able to include participants from other parts of the state. This could not have happened without our use of ZOOM and statewide sharing which makes it possible for so many more to take advantage of our programs.
We have recently begun a new partnership with Recovery Café offering workshops, training, and programs for a wider group of participants.
NAMI has always offered signature programs, but NAMI Jeffco has developed two new workshops: Mental Health Basics & Crisis Communication Skills and Suicide Prevention/Intervention.
These FREE workshops have allowed us to reach out to the community and share knowledge and skills.
