Port Townsend’s 9th Graders Product Innovation Market
What happens when you ask every 9th Grader to create a team of classmates with whom to develop an innovative product, having at least one local ingredient, and then prototype it, design a logo, create packaging, and table display, and then scale it to sell at a fair for 100 plus attendees? THEY DO IT! And they come up with amazing ideas while getting their first taste of true entrepreneurship.
Ocean Bottle 101
With the sale of each Ocean Bottle, 11.4kg of plastic (the equivalent of 1,000 ocean-bound plastic bottles) is collected globally, in coastal areas where plastic pollution is worst. They work with plastic collection partners Plastic Bank, Plastics for Change and Repurpose Global to actualize this collection.

Small Co-ops Bring Big Changes to Their Communities
International Cooperative Day is the annual celebration of the cooperative movement, celebrated on the first Saturday of July, which this year is July 1. The celebration aims to increase awareness about cooperatives and their contributions to economic and social development, as well as promote the movement’s ideas of international solidarity, equality, and world peace.
