It’s fresh hop season again and Aisle 5 shelves are packed with delicious, local quaffers for all the hop heads out there.
Bale Breaker Home Grown Release No. 8
Release No. 8 in Bale Breaker’s Home Grown series is made with freshly harvested, homegrown Simcoe wet hops that were transported from the farm to fermenter in under five minutes – it doesn’t get much fresher than that. This beer features intense aromas of hoppy grapefruit and berry pie.
Black Raven Fresh Hop West Coast IPA
Black Raven’s 2021 fresh hopped India Pale Ale was brewed with whole wet Strata hops and dry hopped with kiln fresh Bravo hops. Wet hop, or fresh hop beers, can only be brewed at harvest time each year. The hops are used directly from the field within 24 hours of harvest. Freshly harvested hops impart unique fresh and resiny flavors and bright aromatics. The hops were grown and harvested by Roy Farms in Moxee, WA.
Ghostfish Fresh Hop IPA – Gluten free
This year's fresh hop beer features 300 pounds of fresh picked Chinook hops from Washington's Chelan Valley Hops. Whole-cone hops are harvested on brew day and put into the kettle to create liquid gold. This year’s brew features notes of resinous pine, apricot, grapefruit and lemon.
Lucky Envelope Strata IPA
Fresh Hop season at Lucky Envelope usually means the release of an IPA and a Lager. Hop harvest typically begins in late August; freshly picked hop cones are sent immediately to the brewery and brewed within 48 hours. Lucky Envelope consistently crafts high quality brews with loads of style, complexity and flavor.
