Marcel Lapierre Morgon 2020

It’s a special time of year when our annual allocation of Marcel Lapierre Morgon arrives. The wines are some of the most coveted in all of Beaujolais, yet they remain some of the most affordable wines offered from all the Beaujolais crus.

Every year, restaurants and bottle shops around the world submit requests for the wines, although demand far exceeds supply. That being said, the Food Co-Op was lucky enough to receive a 12-bottle allocation this year. Before being placed on store shelves, the 2020 Marcel Lapierre is first being offered to Food Co-Op members on a first-come, first-served basis. Please send your requests via email to jamesr@foodcoop.coop.

Win Organic Non-Alcoholic Wine

Win Organic Non-Alcoholic wines from Spain, are made with organically grown Verdejo and Tempranillo grapes. The product line features a sparkling Verdejo, a still Verdejo and a still Tempranillo. Win alcohol-removed wines contain less than .5% ABV, and are fully natural, coming from organic vineyards in the prestigious Duero Valley in Spain. Using proprietary, non-chemical techniques, the Win-makers have retained the flavors, aromas and primary characteristics of the original wine. The Win line of non-alcoholic wines is produced by Sin Alcohol, utilizing wines of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera. The wines can be found on the ‘What’s Hot’ side cap on Aisle 5.

Green’s Gluten-Free Beers

Green's Gluten-Free Belgian beers are made from gluten-free ingredients, including: millet, sorghum, buckwheat and rice - as well as hops, water, and yeast.

Since 2004, Green's beers have been brewed in Lochristi, Belgium at the highly-respected DeProef Brewery. Green’s beers are inspired by strong European beers and developed according to a closely guarded secret recipe.  These specialty beers are brewed with a full body, crisp taste and a refreshing flavor, losing none of the taste but all of the allergens. Green's Beers are suitable for both vegetarian and vegan diets.

Green's beers are made from gluten-free ingredients and do not contain any of the following allergens or products thereof: gluten, crustaceans, eggs, gish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, lactose, nuts, celery, mustard, sesame seeds, sulfur dioxide nor sulfites. Green’s beers can be found on the ‘What’s Hot’ side cap on Aisle 5.

Echoes Brewing

The Food Co-op is pleased to feature new brews from Poulsbo veteran brewer Mark Hood. Hood, formerly of Sound Brewing. Hood, now brewing under the new Echoes label, has brought back a local favorite known as Monk’s Indiscretion – a 10% ABV, Belgian American hybrid.

In addition to the 16-ounce ‘Monks,’ look for 12-ounce cans of ‘The Golden Blonde’ a Belgian-style golden ale, and ‘Kölsch’ – Hood’s rendition of a German classic.

Although Kölsch is often considered a summer quaffer, Hood’s effort is so solid, it deserves year-round placement on the Food Co-Op’s shelves, as does the rest of the Echoes’ lineup.
