At just barely an hour’s drive from the co-op lies Bainbridge Vineyards, a certified organic, B Corp certified, women owned and operated vineyard boasting innovative wines made with fruit grown on some of the state’s oldest grape vines.

Founded in 2009 by Kit and Claire Africa, Sailor Vineyards has anchored itself to the production of wines made from Maréchal Foch – an obscure, difficult to pronounce, deep purple varietal that does well in our region.

Taste Washington Wine Month is an annual event sponsored by the Washington Wine Commission. The goal is to celebrate the state’s wineries, winemakers and grape growers and to encourage wine drinkers to drink local.
