As part of our work to support local farms—and to help our members find easy, healthy recipes—we’re inaugurating a new demo series highlighting how to use veggies that might seem unfamiliar or even a little intimidating.

We sent two staff members to the Community Wellness Project Harvest Dinner to enjoy delicious local fare and learn about the great work that CMP supports - getting kids outside in the garden, harvesting seeds and scratch cooking!

Founded in 1968, PTCP is one of the longest standing non-profit cooperatives on the peninsula. Playschool brings together about 50 families from around the county each year.

Currently the Council is composed of members from these sectors: farm production, gardens, environmental education, permaculture, retail, value added producers, grange members, the health department, the Port of Port Townsend, and concerned citizens. Restaureanteers and more members associated with the public sector could provide more perspectives and knowledge of Jefferson County’s food system.
